Hertford Register Office sits within County Hall, a Grade II listed building on Pegs Lane in Hertford. It is one of the most photographable register offices in Hertfordshire and that is not just us saying it. The stone cloisters (archways) by the main entrance have become the defining image of weddings here. They work in sunshine, cloud, and even rain, giving you genuinely striking portrait photos whatever the weather.
Inside, the Oak Room is the ceremony space. It has large windows on one side that flood the room with natural light which makes a real difference to ceremony photos. The room is wide rather than narrow, which means guests get a clear view and there is space for a photographer to move around without standing in anyone's way.
After the ceremony, you have a few excellent options for photos. The Millennium Garden sits directly beside the Oak Room it has a paved area (good for wheelchair access) and a more relaxed garden feel. The stone archways are the most popular spot and produce beautiful results in any light.
